Dining in style
Isola began in Dubai’s Jumeirah Islands Clubhouse and now opens its third location in Marbella-Estepona. It captures the essence of Mediterranean cuisine, drawing inspiration from southern Italy. The restaurant offers homemade pasta, pinsas and Italian favourites, all with a modern twist on classic dishes. Its extensive wine list features fine vintages from Italy’s top wine regions. Isola aims to provide a relaxed atmosphere without sacrificing quality.
Inspired by the rich culinary traditions of the southern islands of Italy, Isola Ristorante delivers a serene dining experience. It suits everything from a late-afternoon aperitivo to an indulgent dinner, offering a journey through Italian classics, paired with wines that reflect the best of Italy’s terroirs.
Our dinner at Isola Marbella
We recently visited Isola in the METT Marbella-Estepona to experience the restaurant ourselves. From the start we knew it would be memorable. The indoor and outdoor seating gives diners options, plus the lighting and views of the pool and ocean add to the mood. The terrace came alive between 7.30 and 8.30 pm, as diners arrived from around the hotel and beyond. The staff were attentive and professional throughout.
The evening began with a Pinot Grigio Valdadige, recommended by the restaurant. The wine was smooth and sweet with a lovely colour and taste. It paired perfectly with the courses that followed and set a light, refreshing tone for the meal.
Antipasti and insalate
From the antipasti menu came the Calamari Fritti. The calamari was crisp and delicate, served with a paprika lime mayo that lifted the flavours beautifully. The Insalate di Sancino followed, a substantial dish of goat cheese, lamb lettuce, and beetroot finished with a citrus vinaigrette. It was fresh, balanced, and full of flavour.
Authentic Italian mains
Two standout main courses were chosen. The Branzino and Scarola Pinau featured wild seabass with escarole, pine nuts, and raisins. Light and fresh, it was served with a side of French fries, making it a perfect Mediterranean dish for a summer evening. The Cotoletta alla Milanese brought tradition to the table. A generous portion, it came with crisp potatoes and padrón peppers, served beautifully and packed with hearty flavour.
Memorable desserts
Dessert offered both tradition and surprise. The Tiramisu was creamy, rich, and served in a unique dish that gave the classic a fresh touch. The Lemon Curd Meringue, however, was the highlight of the night. Sharp and tangy, with raspberries, blueberries, and blackberries, it combined exceptional presentation with a taste that was truly wonderful.
An evening to remember
From start to finish, dining at Isola was an experience to savour. With its elegant setting, attentive staff, and authentic Italian dishes, the restaurant delivered an evening full of flavour and atmosphere. It is a place worth recommending to anyone visiting Marbella who wants to enjoy Italian cuisine in a spectacular location.
