
Le Gourmand is owned by Benjamin Bouvard. Originally from Paris, he first discovered Jávea in his youth going on holidays. Years later, after completing his catering studies in France and spending eight years with the prestigious Lucien Barrière group, working in iconic locations such as Enghien Les Bains, he found himself drawn back to this coastal gem in Spain.
With experience managing grand resorts, including a 150-room complex and renowned French restaurants, Benjamin dreamed of something more personal. When the opportunity to take over a restaurant in Jávea arose 15 years ago, he knew it was the right moment to carve out his own space—one that reflects both his roots and his refined, forward-thinking approach to cuisine.
Creative Gastronomy with Deep Foundations
At Le Gourmand, Benjamin brings together the essence of French culinary tradition with Mediterranean vibrancy. He describes the process as “alchemia”—the magical transformation that happens in the kitchen when classic technique meets creativity. The menu is ever-evolving, yet always grounded in depth of flavour and elegance. Expect delicate sauces, artful plating, and dishes that balance tradition with innovation, leaving a lasting impression on the palate.
A New Home with Soul
Initially located on the bustling Arenal beachfront, Le Gourmand has since relocated to a more tranquil setting—a beautifully renovated rustic finca nestled at the foot of Montgó mountain. Surrounded by lush gardens, the space offers an atmosphere of refined intimacy. With several private rooms (hosting between 8 to 15 guests) and separate outdoor areas, every table feels like a secluded retreat.
The layout reflects Benjamin’s ethos: space, comfort, and quality over quantity. Tables are spaced at least three metres apart, encouraging connection without crowding. It’s exclusive, yet warm—like dining in a home where every detail has been considered.
Tailored Events and Personalised Catering
Le Gourmand is more than just a restaurant. It’s also a destination for intimate weddings, private events, and bespoke catering. From gatherings of 50 to 80 people, each celebration is handled with care and creativity. No two menus are alike: Benjamin works closely with clients to adapt dishes, create unique offerings, and ensure each experience feels special.
Their off-site catering service can bring refined French or international cuisine directly to private villas and homes, and they are also launching a delivery service too wherein you can have your favorite meals delivered straight to your residence in the area.
