Set right on the stunning Las Marinas Beach in Dénia, beachside restaurant Escondida, under the expert touch of owner Vicente Jimenez, has undergone a visionary transformation. The revamped terrace and setting make you feel as if you could be anywhere in the world, especially with the sun shining down and the gentle sea breeze.
This also affords you the choice of relaxing under the shaded patio while enjoying the stunning views, or if the heat becomes too intense, you can always step inside, where the atmosphere is cool and inviting. The interior is beautifully designed, complemented by extremely comfortable seating that further enhances the overall dining experience.

On a delightful Saturday afternoon, we were pleased to be part of an eclectic mix of cultures, with Dutch, Belgian, British, and Spanish guests all enjoying the fantastic atmosphere and spectacular cuisine at Escondida.

The menu is an exciting culinary adventure, offering a variety of options. We opted to start our meal with the Mejillones de Thai, which we would highly recommend.
Mejillones de Thai
These succulent mussels were served in a large portion, accompanied by an extraordinary Thai onion sauce that elevated the flavours to new heights. We were also lucky enough to be treated to an extra dish: ceviche, beautifully garnished with smoky crisps that added a delightful crunch.
Corvina
Next came the Corvina paired with a mango vinaigrette. This fish was not only delicious but also artfully presented, complete with vibrant red peppers and mushrooms. It provided a feast for both the eyes and the palate.
Entrecote
We also savoured the entrecote, perfectly cooked and served with tender strips of steak. Alongside, we enjoyed rosemary potatoes that were simply bursting with flavour.
Each plate is a celebration of colour and taste, and the beautiful flavours and inviting textures make this restaurant unforgettable. What’s more, we found ourselves engaged in lively conversation with some of our fellow diners at nearby tables. Among them were some lovely people who shared how they had moved from South Africa to Holland, before eventually arriving in Denia.
