Last Friday, December 13th, the prestigious Asia Gardens Hotel & Thai Spa became the epicenter of solidarity by hosting the charity dinner “From the Stars for Valencia.” This unforgettable evening brought together 16 Michelin Stars from the province of Alicante, led by renowned chefs Quique Dacosta, Ricard Camarena, and Begoña Rodrigo, the dinner welcomed 104 guests who were able to indulge in a magical evening full of outstanding food and surprises.
The event offered a culinary experience like no other, where flavors, creativity, and solidarity combined for a greater cause: to support areas devastated by the DANA in the Valencian Community.
Supported by the Valencian Business Association (AVE), the chefs presented an exclusive menu showcasing the excellence of Alicante’s haute cuisine. Additionally, master pastry chef Paco Torreblanca delighted guests with his unique sweet creations, providing the perfect finale to a one-of-a-kind evening.
The guests were able to Indulge in Susi Diaz’s famous Red Tuna tartar which is half toro half tuna dress with a port vinaigrette laid on a bed of crème fraîche also very seasoned and covered with Iranian caviar. An explosion that begins with the taste of the sea thanks to the Iranian caviar and the tuna and ends with a cool cream which makes it very soft and a real winner.
Emmanuelle Baron brought a smoky delight from Casa Pepa with a bite of smoked red pepper that they make in their wood-fired oven with marinated bullet tuna enhanced by the sweet-salty crunch of a soy and honey praline, all rounded off with a cool, refreshing touch of melting mint butter.
Dropping a very Italian touch, Andrea Drago from Orobianco delighted the guests with a savory cannolo filled with silky white prawn tartar, showcasing the delicate sweetness of Calpe’s most iconic seafood in every elegant bite.
The event was able to raise a total of 52,000€ which will exclusively go to the the association Mamás en Acción. These funds will support self-employed workers, shop owners, and small business entrepreneurs affected by the DANA, with a special focus on those with children. According to AVE, the goal is to “prevent increased vulnerability for children, reactivate economic recovery, and help sustain employment.”
Mamás en Acción, with over 10 years of experience, ensures full transparency and traceability of the funds raised, backed by audits from Buró Veritas and PwC.
This charity dinner has been part of the global project From Valencia For Valencia, which connects various localities and countries in support of the Valencian Community.
The evening was not only a gastronomic delight but also a powerful demonstration of unity and commitment from the culinary and business communities, it is an example of how unity and solidarity can transform lives, revitalize economies, and restore hope to those in need.
Thank you to all attendees, chefs, and collaborators for making this event a milestone of generosity!
